Kintaro (Golden boy) is a folk hero of Japan, Growing up alone in the woods of Mt. Kintoki, he developed superhuman strength. Later he joined the service of the samurai Raiko, and himself became a famous martial arts master, known as Sakata Kintoki. Slicing through the water like a handmade sword, the Kintaro of today expresses the energy and poise of her heroic namesake.
